The Broome Center is a 62,375 square foot facility consisting of classrooms, computer labs, a gymnasium, a conference center, meeting rooms, and office spaces. The Mott Foundation provided a 4 million dollar grant to renovate the school and provide funding for programs in 1995-1996. The mission of the Broome Center is to provide opportunities to the community that promote job readiness, lifelong learning, personal enrichment, community pride and community empowerment.

In 1998, Mrs. Mancine Broome (wife of the late Commissioner Sylvester Broome, Jr.) established the Broome/Dewey Foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. The purpose of this foundation is to support Broome Center programs and services for the greater Flint area.
