 The Broome Dewey Foundation

The Dewey School opened as an elementary school in 1921 and was an anchor in the greater Flint community for over 70 years. In January of 1992, the school was purchased by Career Alliance Inc. and renamed the Sylvester Broome Jr. Training Technology Center.

In 1998, The Broome/Dewey Foundation was established in partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. The purpose of the foundation is to support Broome Center programs and services for the greater Flint area.
Since its inception, The Foundation has provided funding for many community based classes and activities.
