Eighty-one participants came to information sessions on October 16, 2007 at the Broome Center to continue their journey through the Healthcare Professionals for Michigan’s Future (HPMF) program. The participants were given a project overview, information on the programs at Baker College and Mott Community College, an explanation of financial aid, the availability of academic counseling, the role of service providers, the monitoring process and some next steps in their program.
Representatives were present from both Baker and Mott to share with the participants as well as from Faith Access to Community Economic Development (F.A.C.E.D.) to be sure the incoming participants had all their questions answered.
The HPMF program is designed to take individuals from entry level healthcare positions and those with some college background and train them for mid-skill level healthcare careers where they can make a livable wage.
Questions about the HPMF program can be answered by contacting Karla Turner of F.A.C.E.D. at (810) 232-7733 ext. 208. |
